Bio

Viorica Cebotaros is a visiting scholar and currently an Associate Professor in the Department of English and German Philology at Alecu Russo Balti State University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree (1996) and a Master’s degree (2002) in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, as well as a PhD in Linguistics (2017), all from Alecu Russo Balti State University, Republic of Moldova. Her doctoral dissertation examined the pragmatic aspects of Romanian apologies. In addition to her academic work, she has co-authored three English textbooks for secondary and high school students in Moldova. Over the past three years, she has participated in multiple international projects, traveling to Norway, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Czech Republic, Armenia, and Georgia. Her main research interests include pragmatics, linguistic politeness, and the development of pragmatic competence in EFL learners.
