Learner Strategies in CALL
Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23, 2006
Final Report
On Friday, September 22, and Saturday, September 23, 2006, faculty from the TESL/Applied Linguistics program in the Department of English hosted the fourth annual Conference on Technology for Second Language Learning. The focus this year was on learner strategies in computer-assisted language learning (CALL). The conference brought together concepts and practices dealing with the promotion and investigation of language learning strategies through technology. Presenters came from the University of Minnesota, Stanford University, George Washington University, New York University, Drake University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Universidad de Concepción, Chile, and Iowa State University.
Participants found the conference stimulating and worthwhile and the TESL/AL faculty are planning to host another conference in 2007. The organizers and participants of the 2006 conference would like to thank the Department of English, the Department of World Languages and Cultures, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at ISU, and the volunteer helpers for supporting the conference.
