Spencer Dodd is a second year student in the M.A. in Literature program and a SP CM 212 teaching assistant. He graduated from Iowa State University with a BA in English and a minor in Classical Studies in 2016. His research interests primarily concern the popular fictions of the long 19th century, encompassing such topics as the penal state, subjectivity, compromised self-hood, doubling, treason - and such authors as Dickens, Hawthorne, and Robert Louis Stevenson. He is desperately sure that these things are more related than they appear at first glance.
